I was looking over some of my last year’s posts on the AFP website and noticed this one from May 11, 2006. Not much changes, does it?

Senators Agree to Revive Immigration Bill

Senate leaders reached a deal Thursday on reviving a broad immigration bill that could provide millions of illegal immigrants a chance to become American citizens and said they’ll try to pass it before Memorial Day.

The agreement brokered by Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., and Minority Harry Reid, D-Nev., breaks a political stalemate that has lingered for weeks while immigrants and their supporters held rallies, boycotts and protests to push for action.

I think the graphic below from freakingnews illustrates the proposed “solution” to illegal immigration now being considered by our fine politicians in Washington…

Denny Wilson penned a great article about the so-called Immigration Bill (still) being considered by our elected “representatives.” They’re arguing about what form of amnesty to offer while they should be arguing about how high the border fences should be. Here’s just a sampling; you should read the entire article:

…We do not want a comprehensive immigration bill. We want a fence.

Build a fence! Erect a fence! Construct a fence! Put up a fence! How many ways do we have to say this until our elected “representatives” finally understand what we are saying?

Once we can control the influx of illegal aliens, then we can decide what to do with the ones we have here. If you have a hole in a boat, bailing the water out will not be effective until you fix the hole. …

The problem is serious, folks, and our Senators are  “fiddling while Rome burns.” As Denny suggests, the recess is a great time to contact them and let them know - again - that we want a damn fence, not amnesty! He’s even provided contact information so there’s no excuse not to act. Do it!
