Imus is Gone...

…and we can all sleep easier knowing that Al and Jesse are watching over us. I still think the skewering was wrong, not because I like the old fart but because no one, especially not Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, should be able to control when someone loses their job. Free speech took it in the shorts over a poor taste comedy bit not unlike what we hear daily on the radio and, as a result, we’ve all lost part of our right of free speech.

Well, not everyone; rappers and black comedians still have theirs.

You may not know that 85% of all hip hop is bought by whites. 85%! There is nothing Don Imus could have said that they don't hear, and much much worse, on MTV and the radio and in their iPods.

This whole episode was about black racketeers alleging "their people" have been "hurt" by Imus' nasty words when in reality they hear them every day from hiphop artists and black comedians. (They just don't want to hear it from whites!)

It was about assassinating some poor smuck to show that Al and Jesse still weild "power."

What is sad is that Imus was an easy target. Nobody really cared about him. Now, if he had been a tougher target, someone more of us care about, then more of us would have risen to his defense.

What does that say about us? We should be ashamed.

This won't go away for a while. Al and Jesse have tasted blood and they will be fed by Pelosi and the dims to go after conservative talk show hosts next. It's an amazing phenomenon people will talk about in years to come and wonder what the hell happened. Wake up!

The only thing Imus is guilty of is using ebonics without a license.

Before the self-congratulation gets any more feverish, here is one splash of cold water on the destruction of Don Imus. The absurdity of the notion that Imus picked up his language from Ku Kluxers and not from 50 Cent will eventually be noticed.

So Don Imus is gone. Honestly, I won't miss him. Physically, the man looked like he should have been dead ten years ago. As for his show, it sucked. The man made no sense and was never funny.
