The "Boost"
I’m still amazed, as I suspect Sharpton and Jackson themselves are, that they were able to so easily pull this off. Getting an old, burned out cowboy fired for using offensive language in what amounted to an edgy comedy bit was quite a coup. But now they’re under pressure to tackle black comedians and rappers who are a hundred times worse. I can’t wait to see all the heads roll… (right.)
Meanwhile, editorial cartoons say it best.

I really doubt that rappers or black comedians will be "fired" or even singled out by Sharpton. I expect a blanket "warning" to everyone that bad words are bad etc. They may even target some minor rapper or comedian to fire so they can look like they are being tough, someone to involuntarily fall on their sword. But the music labels won't stand for anything that inhibits their cash cows.
I agree with you that Don Imus should not have been fired. I am ashamed we let that happen, even if he was a washed up, unfunny drunk.
It is true. Only 50 Cent and other rappers can say things that got Imus fired. That is discrimination isn't it?
