I never realized cigar smoking was so complicated. It is probably in part the mystique that attracts some people to cigar smoking, like some are with wine, but for some of us, we would just like to go to the store and buy good cigars. Perhaps you will provide us a list of which cigars you recommend? And which we should avoid?

You'll probably enjoy the hobby more if you learn the "art" of it, but your point is well taken; some may prefer to enjoy the smoke without the science. I suspect Michael will provide some of his "picks" once class is over.
