High Power Job

Bob sent this with the question, “I wonder how much this job pays?”

“There’s only three things I’ve ever been afraid of: Electricity, height and women. And I’m married, too.”

This seems dangerous, not just for the guy but for the helicoptor! What if they have a problem and the rotor blade hits the high tension lines? BOOM!

I had never heard of this being done before. I would suppose someone has determined it is the best way to do whatever it is he is doing up there, or maybe it is the cheapest? The equipment cost has to be high not to mention the big bucks I assume the guy gets paid. But wait. What am I thinking? Costs get passed on to consumers.

I never heard of this either. Wish I knew where this is. I might like to apply for a job! Has to pay pretty well. What do you suppose they do in bad weather? Rain? Wind? Ice? Maybe they just play hearts and collect their checks.

Talk about a "high wire act!" Think he gets hazardous duty pay?

I wonder how many fatalities have occured doing this work? Accidents happen in every line of work, even those where precautions are taken. If so, I wonder where and how many?

I know, I know, Google it...

Let me know what you find out, Rich.

How does someone find a job like this? What is it called anyway? "Million volt wire walker wanted?" It sounds like this guy has had the gig for quite a while. Maybe it is by word of mouth.
