Black Button - A Short Film
Every once in a while I stumble upon a really well done video on YouTube. They’re usually made by amateur videographers or film makers, some more amateurish than others and some, as in this case, by budding film makers. This is the first professional short film by Lucas Crandles of Blackheart Productions. It was made for $200 and shot on the stage of their old grammar school in Melbourne, Australia. Fortunately, professional actor Robert Grubb agreed to act in it for free after reading the script. The film took nearly a year to put together, working on it in stages and creating the ‘white’ effect on a home PC. Note that Hayden Grubb, the younger actor, unlike Robert Grubb, has had no formal acting training.

That was effing awesome!!!
Very entertaining for an amateur just turning professional. Kind of Twilight Zone like.
This was very good. It reminds me of things I have seen before, maybe on the Twilight Zone, I'm not sure where, but I know it has been done before. But is was really good.
Is the younger actor related to the older actor? Maybe his son?
I watched, I enjoyed. Better than usual questions, somewhat better answers and still some dodges. I agree, wait and see. I will watch the Rep debate.
A well done short, especially considering its budget and that the white work was done on a home computer. The "Faustian Bargain" premise has been used many, many times, notably in the 1986 Twilight Zone epidode mentioned above. But each is a unique interpretation of its maker, and this one is definately an original work.

Reminds me of the recent Worm The Movie ( www.wormthemovie.com ), filmed here in North Texas by a local high school drama department. We went to the screening because we have friends in the film industry that volunteered to work the technical aspects of the production. All in all both are pretty good, albeit best suited for Church Teen groups...
That was absolutely brilliant for an amateur production. In fact, with a little more money but the same direction and script, that would outshine most professional productions. I've seen their other films since; these guys are definitely going places. Thanks for posting!
