OK I'll be the one to ask. How do you spray some water in a zip-lock bag you are going to store cigars in and not have it come in contact with the cigars?
Jason, you're absolutely correct. If you have an unwrapped cigar (no tube or no cellophane) you wouldn't spray water on them. There's nothing worse than a drippy cigar.
Stanley, I've found recommending cigars is akin to recommending wine. It's really a matter of taste. I'm happy to make suggestions if you have an idea what you like. In an earlier column I suggested Cigars International and Thompsons Cigars as good places to start. They offer samplers from various brands so you have the chance to decide what you like and what you don't like at a reasonable price. In the Sacramento area, where I am, Tower Cigars and Cardena's are both excellent sources.
Good choices Ken. If you like those, get your hands on a Peterson Gran Reserva or an Alec Bradley Trilogy Ovation with the Corojo wrapper. Stay away from the Cameroon version. Another excellent choic is the 5-Vegas A with the Costa Rican maduro wrapper. Excellent cedar notes with a hint of leather and pepper on the finish.
The Nicaragua Cinco Vegas are an excellent choice and certainly in line with the Cubans - full of body and purity of knowing your savoring the best. Michael, I'll bet your wife is absolutely the best, because I'll bet she allows you the luxury of a humidor room to enjoy the simple but tasteful hours of knowing you one in a million. Ahhhhhh!
I have the most wonderful woman in the world as a soulmate Ken. She is one of my two vices: Incredible women and fine cigars. We actually built a "cuban" room, complete with extra ventilators, ionic filters and lots of palms and ferns, to enjoy a fine stogie during the inclimate weather. In my office, my 5000+ capacity humidor keeps my prized collection protected and enjoyed by dear friends when they call. I see a glass of Blue Label and a Gurkha Symphony in my future tonite!
LOL. Ok..let me stipulate that there is only ONE Incredible woman: My wife. Granted, there are some wonderful women among our friends, and I'm sure many others are of fine caliber and a credit to society, but I can only grant that title to one.
Can I come back in the house now, honey? Hello? (knock knock)

I've shown a really nice one to my wife and hinted that it would be a great Xmas present. I'm being extra good, so maybe.

Quick, smoke it before it dries!!!
Is there a good place to buy cigars online? Or do the stores you use in California available online? Will you get into recommending specific cigars?

Hey Thanks!
Ahhh! The fine aroma of a Bolivar Coronas or San Christobal lingering. Shipped fresh daily anywhere but ...
