Top 10 Physically Modified People

Here’s a list you don’t see every day courtesy of deputydog by way of James. I’ve featured tattooed men (and ladies) before, but this goes waaaay beyond reason. And I should warn you that a couple of the videos aren’t for the squeamish. But that said, take a look at what some may call body art, others might call obsessive/compulsive and more than a few would call insanity. Here are three from the list to give you a preview…

I suppose this is not unlike some people, usually women, that can’t seem to get enough plastic surgery. We’ve all seen them on TV and most will agree they’re obsessive. This seems to me to fall into the same category. What do you think?

Yup, pure insanity. Can you imagine what these folks will do when they are grandparents (Oh my! They will breed!)

"Why does Gramps have all that weird color all over him? And what are those bumps on his head?"

Even worse, their children are likely to repeat the example before they are mature enough to know any better.

Freakin freaks is what they are. Self mutilators. What possible reason would someone have for doing this?

I am glad to see that you categorized body art an "art form." It is a form of self expression like tattooing, it is just to a more extreme level. People who do tghis have something to say and this is how they express it.

These people are sick. To borrow from Forrest Gump, twisted is as twisted does.

Self-mutilation is not an art form. It's a mental illness that requires treatment.

Sick. Ugly. Twisted.

I have no quarrel with anyone's right to mutilate themselves so long as they respect my right to say what I think of it.

Yes, I have a small tat, a souvenir from my tour in the Navy. And I consider myself tolerant. But this is just disgusting.

And yet I was compelled to look. Kind of like a train wreck I guess.

These people are sick!

I think these people grew up desperate for attention and struggled with acceptance. So-called "loners" sometimes find acceptance among similar personalities and gain approval by "fitting in".

Within this particular sub-culture, becoming more outrageous wins greater approval. Too bad they didn't have the benefit of therapy (or psychiatric treatment) before taking this path.

I am all for letting people do their own thing (as long as it hurts no one) but I think there must be a mental deficiency involved here that would make someone do this to themselves.

What a sad awakening they will one day have when they realize what they have done. And much of this can never be reversed.

Like all art, this is a form of self expression by informed adults. You may find the art distasteful - that is your prerogative - but it hurts no one and is enjoyed by those who practice it.

Informed? Maybe. Capable of making a rational decision about their future? I doubt it.

Come on! They do it to impress the girls...

Admit it - how many of you have tats also?

Here's a photo you might want to check out of an older gentleman with tats:
