The Jackson Pollock Painting Simulator

fauxjacksonpollack.jpg

Upon first viewing one of Jackson Pollock’s paintings, many speculate that they, given sufficient canvas and paint, could easily produce similar works. Well, here’s your chance. Using your mouse, drag and click your way to artistic fame. It’s fun, and who knows? You might discover a latent artistic talent.

Oh, and the masterpiece above? Me. In about 30 seconds.

Took a little getting used to but I was able to create a "painting" indistinguishable from a Jackson Pollock original. Now if only I could enlarge it 10000 times and transfer it to canvas......

I have been wasting my time all these years with paint and brush attempting to eek out a living with my abstract expressionistic paintings and now I have discovered a new medium. I know I will soon be discovered. Thank you. I will send you 10% royalty when I sell the great work I created today.

Dang, I got in and couldn't get out! I think I painted my screen!

I side with those who say anyone can paint a Pollock. Besides, it must take a crane to lift one to hang on your wall with that much paint.

Ok I made a mess but I think that is the whole "style" of Pollock. I never "got" him and still don't. But I had fun making this "art" piece. Maybe you can get people to send theirs in and you can post them. BTW what ever happened to the hand turkeys?

I have never cared for Pollock's work but his life was an interesting one. I saw a TV special once about his life and found it mesmerizing. He believed suffering in the cold, for example, would allow some deeply buried creativity to spring forth from his subconscious. He was obsessed and strange to say the least.

TJ: I never got around to posting the hand turkeys before Christmas (sorry), then I thought it was too late to post them so I let it slide. There were only a half dozen or so... No promises, but if you really want to see them, I guess I can put them up. Maybe in the next week or two...
