Ferrari 430 Spider Bio Fuel Concept

Al Gore has convinced me I should do my part to help save the world from the perils of man-made global warming climate change. So I’ll be ordering this bio-fuel car when (and if) it becomes available in California.

Gee, I feel greener already!

Labeled as the 430 Spider Bio Fuel, the roadster runs on the familiar mix of 85% natural ethanol and 15% gasoline, which reports suggest yield a modest 2% increase in power. Not very likely seeing as how you don't have enough corn land in California to make enough ethanol to get you to the gas station.

Right. But it should still run on straight gas. The important thing is that you LOOK like a liberal who "cares". But if California does get ethanol, it won't be long before (1) the greenies claim that either ethanol depletes the ozone layer or (2) the U.S. can't meet the demand for corm and have to start importing it form Russia.

What cynics you guys are! We have to reduce our dependency on foreign oil. Here's a way to do it. I should think everyone would be happy about that!

Why do companies like Ferrari make green cars like this? I seriously doubt there is a market for them in any country that has sufficient ethanol to make them plausible. Is it just to make them appear "greener" to everyone, or is there some other reason?

I think they do this because of some requirement by the U.S. government that they demonstrate they are working to reduce emissions??
