I am not sure I get the point. Don't you get enough aroma through the nose just by breathing during the smoke? It also seems like you would be unable to prevent inhaling smoke or swallowing it (which would make you sick I would bet).
I am trying it now (without a cigar) trying to exhale through my mouth and nose at the same time and I can't exhale through my nose except from my lungs. I will keep working at it, but I don't think it will work for me.
You know, I have smoked cigars for many years and this is the first I have heard of this "technique". Personally, I think the regular way of enjoying a cigar is fine and I don't need any new technique to enhance my pleasure.
There are always new ideas to get "more" stimulus, whether cigars or sex. I think the "old" ways are still the best.
Roger, I respect your opinion. However I suggest you attempt it. You'll find a whole new nuance to the experience similar to the top and bottom nose of a glass of wine. I doubted it too, till that Nicaraguan showed me. I'm still getting used to it. It takes practice, to be sure. Try not to force more than 20% or so through your nose at first. Eventually working up to about 50%. But when you do, you'll understand what I'm saying. It's all about the experience and getting the most out of it, right? If you're happy, fine. If you want to "raise the bar", go for it! By the way, it's difficult to do without the smoke in your mouth, so those of you that tried to practice without a cigar in hand may have had difficulty because of it.
It sounds like an unnatural act, trying to get smoke you have drawn into your mouth up through your sinus cavity into your nose without taking a good amount or at least some of it into your lungs. I will try my hand at it this weekend but barring an epiphany beyond all proportions, well, I will just have to see for myself before I say any more. For now I will give you the benefit of the doubt as to whether this is one for us Joe Cigar types.
When I was in high school a LONG time ago, the boys used to let the smoke float out their mouths and suck it into their noses at the same time. They thought that was pretty cool looking. I thought it was eery looking. Forgive me, but this sounds a lot like that. But I don't smoke.
OK I tried it after dinner tonight and can't do it. Choked a few times, swallowed some smoke I think. I can do it if I inhale some but that isn't how it is supposed to work. I tried hard. It's not for me.
Maybe it's better left to those who feel they need something more. I really enjoy my smokes without doing this.

First mouth and lung cancer, now nose cancer? Smoking will get you in the end, maybe quicker this way.
Give it a rest Grim. Try the Smokers Annonymous blog.
LOL Ben.
