Patience Rewarded

James sent this political cartoon. I’m honestly not sure what it’s supposed to be saying, though. Is Davies suggesting that Bush had something (anything) to do with the Cuban embargo? As I recall, that was JFK and it hasn’t been repealed by any president since. Or is he implying that GW is too dimwitted to understand the headline?

In either case, I thought it was humorous enough (I love political cartoons!) to post.

I think you nailed it.

They are just picking on Bush because he's a short-timer.

Calle Ocho celebrated his stepping down but doesn't want the embargo lifted. I doubt any American president will move to lift the embargo as long as it is a communist country 90 miles off our coast.

I would have to say the latter.

I have to agree. He's become a stereotype and people think he's like that. Going to Harvard or Yale may give you an education, but some people continue to stumble all over their words as he does. Unfortunately, it makes people think he's dumb. He may not be, but that is the perception people have.

No, Bush has brought all that on himself. He could be a genius, but he hides it so well under his country bumpkin facade that we would never know.
