Morgellons - Disease or Delusion?
Here’s a scary thought. Imagine suffering a nightmare of horror, conspiracy and medical mystery, yet being called delusional or psychotic by your doctor and others. Imagine you might have Morgellons Disease.
People who suffer from Morgellons Disease describe feeling as though insects are crawling under their skin. They may have a number of other symptoms as well but, in most cases, they center on unexplained skin rashes and eczemas, and the appearance of fibers and granules coming out of their skin. Some say that they’ve seen insect-like parasites emerge from under their skin and fly away.
Sounds like a freakish ailment from a horror movie, doesn’t it? Some experts believe it’s a psychiatric phenomenon, yet hundreds of people swear it’s a real physical condition. And now the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is paying California-based health care giant Kaiser Permanente $338,000 to interview and test patients suffering from Morgellons’ bizarre symptoms in a one-year study being conducted in northern California, the source of many of the reports of Morgellons (pronounced mor-GELL-uns).
I’m reminded of another once unknown condition: Lyme disease. Like Morgellons, Lyme disease affects sufferers with myriad symptoms, many of them similar to Morgellons. But unlike Morgellons, Lyme disease is now recognized and can be identified through medical diagnostics and lab tests. Let’s hope the Kaiser study leads to better understanding of Morgellons and relief for its sufferers.

It is still a mystery. I am glad that the current study is being conducted, although $300,000 US is barely enough to scratch the surface. But it is a start.
This is a man-made disease and the government is in on it. They are covering it up until it gets widespread enough and then they can sell drugs to treat it. It is high up doctors and companies like Monsanto who are responsible.
How awful! I hope the study defines exactly what it is so the poor people suffering from it can get treated.
I have heard of this and always read that it is a delusion, so I will be interested to learn what Kaiser has to say about it. The people are suffering from something, mental or physical.
There seems to be a humongous conspiracy theory about Morgellons that it is being caused by areal spraying. I am not a big conspiracy theorist myself but they are sure making a lot of claims. Your readers should beware of the amount of unreliable information being spread by them. I am not saying Morgellons is a real disease or not based on what is known about it today, but I am doubtful about all the claims of doctors poisoning people and the government covering it up.
You have to love conspiracy fanatics. They see bad guys behind every rock. Too much X-files I think.
This may turn out to be like Lyme disease was. Meanwhile, be careful about drawing conclusions from the youtube videos people are making that make it sound like the medical profession is deliberately hiding the existence of a real disease so they can make money later curing it. That is just ridiculous! Those people should just get a life!
You are right about the amount of misinformation out there. I Googled and found this website that posted a youtube about the disease. It starts out with a legit Today Show piece followed by another legit news piece, but interjects conspiracy stuff as if it all goes together as a way to add legitimacy to their conspiracy theory.

i don't think anyone can deny there's a lot of stuff going on we don't know about. when people try and talk about it, nobody ever takes it seriously. but the truth remains: there's a lot of craziness happening right now that we won't even get the abstracts on for decades.

Another man made disease to depopulate the world and test out new biological warfare systems. 100,000 people world wide have this. Its spreading.
All this nano tech can't be good. Nothing that small can ever be good unless it's for some kind of surgery, but it's out of control just like GMO foods.
I try to stay away from too much of it anymore because it's just too much.

I have suspected this for some time: Morgellons is caused by prolonged exposure to the MS Windows operating system. If scientists check, they will find that most if not all the victims of Morgellons have been exposed to Windows. That is what the government is trying to hide from us.
Think about it. It is the common denominator, the smoking gun.

If that were true, then the majority of the world population would have it. Maybe it is Unix or Mac users who contract it. There are less of them.

I love a good conspiracy as much as anyone, but some of these people are whacked!! Sorry, but they need to get a life!! Put the aluminum hat away and join the real world!!
