Snow in Cameron Park!

It doesn’t happen often, but it was snowing this morning as low as Cameron Park (about half way between Sacramento and Placerville), just a few miles from our home!. I don’t remember that happening since ‘04 or ‘05! Chains are required just past Placerville!

Anyway, this Sacramento Bee photo shows drivers during heavy snowfall along Durrock Road in Cameron Park about 7 a.m. this morning. It’s just not something we’re used to seeing this far down the hill! Everyone’s wondering if the next storm will affect the AMGEN Tour of California scheduled to pass through downtown Sacramento about 1 PM tomorrow…(More)

Are you going to photograph it? I would love to be there myself but I would enjoy your photos if you go :-)

That's nothing! You should be in Michigan where we have REAL snow!

I always heard "it don't rain (or snow) in California" but I know you have snow in the mountain ski resorts. I guess its rare where you live though, so I can see why it might be a big deal. Are you going to watch Lance in the amgen this weekend?

To be honest, that isn't a snow storm, it's a "dusting" and it probably didn't stick for long. And low-landers probably don't know how to drive in it so there were probably a lot of skids and fender benders. Of course, skiers probably drive it all winter, so maybe the rest of the peeps stayed safe.

Have a super weekend and don't forget to get Lance's autograph at the Amgen Race! Pray it doesn't rain!

We'll wait and see what the weather looks like. If it's nice, we may give it a try. Of course, parking may present a problem we're unwilling to face. If we go, I'll bring the camera and post photos. But remember, it's the prologue tomorrow, a 2.4 mile individual speed race, so we'll just play it by ear.

Of course, it'll also be Valentine's Day, so I'll want to do whatever Wifey wants which will include a very romantic dinner out...
