Happy Washington's Birthday 2009

Today is Presidents Day, at least in California. It falls, awkward and confusing, on the federal holiday designated by our federal government as Washington’s Birthday. It’s also a day off from work for many of us, so IM is closed today. I posted information about the holiday’s origin and history last year, so rather than my revisiting the subject, follow this link to that article. Have a wonderful holiday!

I read somewhere that Bill Clinton had applied to have his bust carved along side the real presidents, buI was surprised to hear that Obama has already applied as well. He knows it will take a while to process his application, so he wanted to get the ball rolling.

I hope there is some infrastructure stimulus money to repair Mt. Rushmore. When we were there several years ago, the carvings were in much need of repair.
