"Faces in Places" Flickr Pool

One of the best and most enjoyable storage sites for photographers is Flickr, and one of its best features is image pools. For example, there are more than 1400 images submitted by some 500 photographers pooled into a collection called Faces in Places. I’ve thumbnailed a few below just to give you a taste, but the point is, if we choose to look for them, there are “faces” all around us - in nature, in public and in places only you can imagine. Take some time and browse a little. You may get some ideas for “faces” you can photograph yourself!

Photographers develope a keen eye and learn to notice and observe the things around them. The rest of us walk right by without "seeing" what is there.

I need LOTS of practice!!!

Looks like your thumbnails got misalligned.

Thanks for calling it to my attention, Greg. I assume you're viewing the site on a Mac.

I sometimes post from a Mac and sometimes from a Windoze PC (IE). Images render differently on a PC (and differently between Firefox and Safari on a Mac) which always creates a problem for one platform and browser or another. I reduced each image 1X1 pixel and it seems to be okay now. Let me know if it fails to render correctly on your platform.

Sorry, but why would so many photographers take pictures of smiley faces?

Looks fine now.

Jessica: Why do so many photographers take pictures of anything? Because they find enjoyment in it and because they find it interesting or beautiful or curious or ???

Personal tastes vary. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
