Richard Hammond: The "Making of" Bloody Omaha
How three graphic designers re-created D-Day on a shoestring budget for the Timewatch program “Bloody Omaha”. Due to interest in the “making of” video, the complete program will be repeated January 27 on BBC television. In the U.S., the full production of BLOODY OMAHA will be shown on the Smithsonian Channel HD in May, 2008.
Amazing what can be done with just three actors, some props, a camera, four days and some amazing cgi (computer generated images), isn’t it?

Amazing!! three guys in four days! I will watch the Smithsonian Channel's showing from a new perspective - I will be watching for the footage I saw being made!! Way cool!!
That is amazing that they can make scenes like that look so real with just a few actors. I look foward to watching the whole program.
This is really amazing. 3 guys. The camera doesn't even look too complicated so maybe an average Joe could do this. I would love to be able to make the cgi parts. What kind of software/hardware is required to do this?
Damn, makes me want to grab a video camera and make a movie! Anyone can do it (IF you have the software and knowledge for cgi!)
Probably on Macs since that is the standard for professionals who make movies and do hi-end video. And software you won't find on the shelves at the local computer store.
I will be anxiously awaiting the Smithsonian presentation. Thanks!!
Amazing what they can do!
I never would have imagined that that is what they can do. I suppose that is in lots of movies we have seen and never knew it. Technology is amazing! Soon they won't need actors at all!
We will be gathered around the tele to watch the programme. Amazing video and computer work.
