ABC News Takes Issue with Clintons' Lies About Obama
It’s refreshing to see a major news source take issue with the way the Clintons are twisting the words of Barack Obama, their primary political foe in the primaries. It’s certainly not a new tactic for the Clinton camp, but it seems as though most mainstream news media rarely call them on it, not wanting, it would appear, to rain on their parade. It helped get Bill elected and it’s probably helped Hillary to this point in time.
I’m not surprised that Obama told South Carolina’s The State newspaper that former President Bill Clinton and his wife, Sen. Hillary Clinton, are lying about him and his record purposefully. “There is a concrete strategy by the Clintons,” Obama said.
What surprised me was the response by ABC News Senior National Correspondent Jake Tapper. In the article, he writes, “Any objective review of how Bill and Hillary Clinton have been twisting comments Obama made about Ronald Reagan and the Republican party would concur.”
Tapper provides a link to the interview of Obama by the Reno Gazette-Journal that, though lengthy, is well worth viewing. Listen to what Obama said. Contrast that to what the Clintons claim he said. It leaves little room for doubt that Hillary (and Bill) will say anything to win.

Exactly. The Clintons have always been blatant abusers of the truth (depends on what the meaning of the word "is" is). It is refreshing to see them being called on it this time around. I hope the dem faithful are paying attention.
As a Republican, I would rather see us run against Edwards than Hillary. But I so dislike Hillary!! She would be devastating for our country, Bill would be bringing more bimbos into the White House, it would be a terrible mistake to elect another Clinton.
At least Obama sounds like a real person, not a lie, cheat, whatever it takes to win kind of candidate.
Mud slinging and infighting. I love it!
Hillary stole a quote from Stephen Colbert to bash Bush.
The quote was, "Bush doesn't make decisions based on facts, he makes facts based on decisions".
Who's making stuff up now?
She also promised to make oil prices drop by making a couple of statements in her inaugural speech.
She's flailing with incredulous statements, a sign of desperation.
Hope voters pick up on it.
I would never vote for Hillary but I might consider Obama if it wasn't for his admission that he doesn't know how to do a lot of things and so would just administer others who do. I think you need more experience with the mechanics of the job before you are qualified to direct it. Otherwise you fall into the trap of other people telling you how they should be performing. That along with feeding you the information you use to make decisions and you have a figurehead. I would rather see someone more educated in relevant subjects the way Condoleezza Rice is. They would bring something to the table besides being a professional politician.
Anytime a candidate resorts to mud slinging, they turn me off. Aren't there any "real" people willing to run? Wait a minute, Fred tried.
If another Clinton makes it to the WH, I am moving to Costa Rica!
Teddy: I'm afraid that's the only kind of candidate the parties offer any more. And to make matters worse, they are mostly lawyers. Somewhere along the line we lost our way and wrongly think lawyers are somehow better equipped to run government when in fact it's lawyers who have messed it up.
Hey Frank: I hear it's pretty nice in Costa Rica! Send me a postcard now and then, and keep a spare room ready for when I visit!
