Best Super Bowl Commercials

Great game notwithstanding, for some the Super Bowl is all about the commercials. There were some pretty good ones this year. These were some of my favorites:

Bud Light - Breathe Fire

Pepsi - Magnetic Attraction

Diet Pepsi Max - What is Love

Audi - Truth in Engineering

Budweiser - Clydesdale Team

FedEx - Carrier Pigeons

Bud Light - Wheel Suck

Bud Light - Jackie Moon

Our favorite is #5, the Clydesdale who does the Rocky training and gets chosen the next year. Made us go awwwww when he missed out the first year.

The Jackie Moon ad was my favorite. I think they only ran the 30 second version during the game. It advertises Ferrel's next movie where he plays essentially the same character he's been playing (it seems to work for him). He is just funny to watch talk. Anything he says with that smirk comes out funny!

The Audi ad is great, a takeoff on the Godfather where instead of a horse head and blood he wakes up with a Bentley grill and oil. Pure genius! And come on! The R8 is HOT!!

How much does one of those cost?

They start at $100,000. And worth every penny I'm thinking!

I don't get the Diet Pepsi "What is Love" commercial. Is Diet Pepsi supposed to wake you yp? Is that the message?

Not exactly karen. It is a takeoff from the old SNL skit where Will Farrel and (forget his name) play a couple of losers hitting the clubs trying to pick up on women and not getting too far. But they continuously shake their heads to the side to the beat of "What is Love". You would have to know the skits to get it.

Here you are: classic SNL "Night at the Roxbury" skit with Jim Carey and Will Farrel.

Breathing fire was my favorite. Poor cat!!

I thought the game and the commercials were all better than last year.

very nice, Doug. It is good to be able to watch them again without the distraction of people talking. I personally like the Budweiser one with the young Clydesdale horse that gets passed over the first year, and the Dalmation that trains him for the following year. The high five at the end is a sweet finish.
