Super Bowl XLII Champions: New York Giants
In what was perhaps one of the best Super Bowl games in recent memory and maybe the most watched in Super Bowl history, the New York Giants ripped victory from the jaws of the New England Patriots with 35 seconds remaining in the game to clinch the title and spoil the Pats’ hopes for a record 19-0 perfect season. The Patriots had one last gasp to try to regain their lead and save the game, but Tom Brady’s desperation pass on fourth down fell incomplete. NFL Game Center has the stats and key plays.
Dawn and I watched the game with a group of close friends on Michael & Sisko’s new 73-inch Hi-Def flat screen TV. Now, that’s the way to watch the Super Bowl! We still had all the yelling and screaming those at UofP Stadium experienced, but with far better seats, much better company and, without a doubt, way better food. After the game, we retired to our hosts’ cigar room and enjoyed some of Michael’s finest, perfectly paired with appropriate wines and engaging conversation. It was a wonderful Super Bowl party!
Today I’ll be licking my wounds, paying off a couple of bets I’d made on the Pats, and collecting on one I made (no points!) on the Giants. All in all I came out about even.

Sounds like you had a better viewing experience than we did. Our big-screen died about an hour before kickoff!! We were having a Super Bowl party so we had plenty of "experts" trying to bring it back to life but finally had to all go over to my brother's house and watch it on a 27" TV. We missed the first quarter but saw the rest (Not the same on a small screen). We still had all the beer and food, so all was not lost. Guess it is time for me to get a big new flat screen, right?
Poor baby! You rush on down to Circuit City and buy yourself a big 50-inch plasma and one of the new DVD players. You will feel all better.
Yeah, tell your wife you had to do it cause Kristin said to. Then tune in to her favorite show in HD and she'll love you for it.
Hell of a good game!! I never would have thought the Giants could pull it out!! I'll bet the Mannings will be celebrating for weeks!!
We can't imagine a 73 inch TV! Must take up the whole room!
We watched it on a 50 inch and thought that was spectacular, so 73 inch must be like being there!
Great game, right down to the final seconds! That is what a Super Bowl is supposed to bring. Two great teams who slug it out right to the end. Definitely got my money's worth! Must have been great on the giant screen!
That was one terrific game!! And my Giants came through !! Doesn't get any sweeter that that!!
