Obama's Energy Plan

If you’ve been following recent press coverage of Obama’s “energy plan”, you’re probably left with the same impression I was - that it’s a utopian generalization that, like much of what he says, sounds nice, yet on closer examination, offers few specifics.

Aside from the fact that a sitting president lacks the power to implement the steps conceivably needed to accomplish the “plan’s” stated goals, it doesn’t even include sufficient specifics to be called a “plan”. Maybe a list of lofty sounding “wishes”, but hardly a “plan” any more than the one proposed by Dilbert’s PHB in one of my recent posts.

That’s not to say that the one actual “plan” he has put forward - inflate our tires - isn’t a real plan. It is. But, like Obama himself, it won’t solve much.

Don't be vague, Doug, how do you really feel about Obama?

Y'know, I never saw the connection until I saw the Dilbert cartoon. I suddenly see that is exactly what he does! OMG, I got caught up in HOW he said what he said without stopping to notice there was, as you said before, "no steak." The cartoon drove the point home. Thanks for clearing the smoke!

If anyone knows where I can get one of these tire gauges, please let me know here. Great post btw.

At least Obama HAS AN ENERGY PLAN, thats more than I can say for McCain and the Repubs.

Truth! He is a smooth talker all right. Too bad he doesn't have the smarts to go with it.

Let's be honest. How does a guy with no more than a little experience as a social activist become a senator? South Chicago. And the even bigger question, how does a junior senator with no measurable footprint in the Senate get chosen as a democratic presidential candidate? I can't answer that one, other than he talks well. Anybody got an answer for that one?

It is like we have lost our ability to think.

"At least Obama HAS AN ENERGY PLAN, thats more than I can say for McCain and the Repubs." - Trapperjon

Where have you been? McCain has been tauting his energy plan (with specifics) for months! You have just become part of the liberal ms media's "rock star" parade. They would rather report on Obama's empty rhetoric than anything meaningful McCain says.

Google is your friend! Do some of your own research!

I think I read that they got passed out at some recent Republican rally. Try the RNC and maybe they can direst you to a source.

No kidding! I assumed it was a Photoshop image. If the Republicans made these, that is brilliant!

The Dilbert cartoon made the point very well!! Obama's "plan" is just a bunch of feel good smoke. What we need to see is someone making him explain how he could, as President, actually implement his so called plan. Watching him dance around the question would at least be entertaining. Maybe that is "above his pay grade" too.

Wow! I never saw Obama as a PHB before. Good call!

To be fair, the tire pressure point was only a part of his overall plan that would save a ton of barrels of oil.

August 18 | Unregistered Commentertrapperjon

Great article, short and spot on! The photo is great too! You always manage to include an appropriate graphic to make your point.

Trapper Jon, with all due respect, are you serious? Obama's claim that "properly inflating our tires" would yeild a savings of "more oil than could be drilled under the Republicans' proposals" is so much hot air I can'r believe you are parroting it. And "only a part of his 'plan'"? Think about it. Do the math before you repeat something as rediculous as Obama's "plan".

That's telling it like it is! Love it!

Obama's energy plan. You nailed it! LOL!
