Thank you Michael for educating me about fine cigars. I now subscribe to Cigar Aficianado, have a humidor filled with cigars I like, and feel confident enough in a humidor room to know something about what I see. I took your advise and bought sample packs on line. Some I hated but at least I didn't spend to much on them. I am looking forward to the next series. Keep herfing!

I don't think I have ever seen cigars romanticized like this! I need a cigarette after just reading this!

Just kidding, I actually smoke one now and again and look at it in a different light. I am not as serious about it as some of you but now I buy better cigars and enjoy them much more.

I guess I am a real herfer now :-)

No matter how you glamourize it, it is still only a cigar. I hope when you smoke them you do it away from the rest of us who find the smell offensive. Thank you.

I agree with Teddy. I think I'm in lust....for a cigar!

It sounds romantic and all. Maybe I have only smelled cheap cigars so I am negative. I have some friends who smoke them sometimes, I may try one and see if I am missing something. I know a cigar store that is pretty close by so what would you recommend for someone like me who doesn't even smoke cigarettes to try?

Hi Lori...
There is a cigar that comes to mind that I think you might enjoy.
CAO makes a small cigar called the Moontrance. It's a flavored cigar that's very mild and has a pleasant fragrance made from Vanilla, Peaches and Bourbon. My wife enjoys an occasional cigar and that's her favorite. Drew Estates also features the ACID cigars, which are infused with botanical oils, etc. They need to be kept isolated from other cigars because they are so strongly scented they will "infuse" other cigars near them with the flavors, but that might be a good choice to try too. Both CAO and ACID have samplers you can buy to check them out and any decent cigar shop should carry one or the other. Then, it's just a matter of taste and what you like.
Good luck!

Another awesome post!! If I weren't already a cigar smoker, I would want to take it up! Love the whole series!

For any of you not aware of it, you can click on "archives" and then "cigar talk" and get a list of ALL the cigar articles on this site. A really cool feature for cigar fans!

THANKS! I will try them both if the store has them.

This will blow my girlfriends minds!

Kevin: A faster shortcut to all the cigar posts is to click on the cigar talk link under the current post itself (to the right of Doug's name). One click and you are there!

Nice series. I smoke with my mates when we have something to celebrate so I will watch for your further recommends.
