Rough Weekend?
This is no way to start (or end) a summer weekend! Must have been pretty dramatic to witness and horrifying for the family in the pickup! And is that someone still in the vehicle? Were it not for one fortuitously placed boulder, both the pickup and the boat would have plunged into the canyon and the outcome would have been very different.
Thanks Sara!

The golfing world is celebrating a new invention that promises to revolutionize the sport. The new device is called the “bee nut.”
Basically a fastening attachment that allows players to adjust the heads on their clubs to any angle, it eliminates the need to carry a bagful of clubs. Players can use the same club to drive, putt or get out of a sand trap.
Golf clubs with the new modification are selling quickly, and players are taking golfing “picnics” so they can try their new “bee-nut putter sand-wedge.”
OUCH! That actually hurt!
Golf Tip #16 - Reading the Green
In order to be considered an accomplished golfer, one must be able to accurately read the green. And to do so without getting grass stains on your pink golf trousers is, well, priceless.

Close Call!
Got this from Dave Hughes. Do you think he saw the croc before he splashed down? Now that’s an adrenaline rush!
Hiking the Brown's Ravine Trail
Dawn and I hiked the Brown’s Ravine Trail Saturday. We normally head for distant trails — we particularly like the Tahoe Rim and the Pacific Rim — but decided on a whim to hike a trail in our own neighborhood, right up the street in fact. We’d planned only a short jaunt, just long enough to get acquainted with the trail, so we took too little water for what turned out to be a half day trek.
It was hot — really hot — by the time we reached the long levy we had to cross to return to our car and we’d been out of water for some time. At one point, I felt chills and told Dawn I thought I might be experiencing heat stroke. But we continued on, vowing never to do anything so stupid again.
On the good side, though, we learned that the trail is interesting and well marked. We stopped to photograph a great egret that posed willingly but remained just beyond the reach of my short lens. Despite the extreme afternoon heat, we enjoyed the hike and will definitely do it again… earlier in the day and packing a lot more water.
