Licking My Political Wounds
I’m licking my political wounds today, but I’m resilient and will be back in harness tomorrow. The rest of the nation’s disappointed, conservative minority should also put away their armor and try to make the best of the hand we’ve been dealt. The election may not have gone the way we’d hoped, but it’s time to put aside our differences and work together toward the common good.
To my conservative friends, remember that whining isn’t becoming and won’t make you feel any better. Obama didn’t “steal” the election; he ran a superior campaign taking full advantage of the public’s discontent with Bush.
And to my liberal friends, gloating is bad form as well. It was a well fought campaign and your guy won. Congratulations.
This election is now history. We’ll suit up and hit it again in about four years.

Doug, don't worry. After the deconstruction of America in the next four years, we will have another shot.
I'm with you. But I'm looking for a 12 step program to help me lose my pangs of election withdrawal. I hear what you are saying but I'm still angry at my (stupid) fellow citizens. It may take more time for me to quit whining. I have a lot of whine left in me.
It is too hard to come down that fast. My head might explode.
That is good advise. We need to do what we can to help the country heal after the long battle. I fear what Obama and the Democratic Congress may do now that there is no longer any check and balance. I suppose time will tell.
Sure, your guy lost and you don't want the winning team to bask in our glory. We won so we get all the gloating we want. Losers! Obama is the best hope to fix all the economic problems Bush created. McCain would have another 4 years of the Bush failures!!! 8 years of President Obama and then 8 more years of President Biden!!! Bwahahahaaaaa!!!
The election is over h34rt67 and your guy won. McCain gave a gracious concession speech and you are still fighting.....who?
It is a bitter pill to swallow though.
Republicans are taking the loss hard. How can you just turn it off?
At least we still have the filibuster. There are a few drops still in the glass.
Too bad things worked out the way they did. I hear some of the Republican campaign "aids" are upset and blaming Palin. Personally I think it's just sour grapes. But as you say, it's all over now, the fat lady (I don't mean Michelle Obama) has sung. I have hung up my spurs until the 2012 campaign. Of course I don't expect the Republicans to mount a serious campaign until 2016 and only if they learn how to pick candidates and run an effective one.
